Those with food allergies know that candy, especially chocolates, have a high risk of cross contamination. There are several food allergy (peanut and nut free) chocolate and candy companies. Some process milk or seeds or other allergens in their facilities so make sure that you read all ingredients and contact the manufacturer to determine safety for your food allergic child. Here are some places to start.

Premium Chocolatiers offers delicious and adorable (check out their selection of Easter Bunnies) dark and “milk” chocolate that is dairy, nut and peanut free! Thanks to Alisa from GoDairyFree.org for bringing this company to our attention!

Vermont Nut Free Chocolates These are rich, smooth chocolates and they make a lot of adorable kid-friendly treats including Easter Bunnies and “Eggs”

Divvies The chocolate bunnies are sold out but they still have Jelly beans and other milk, egg, nut and peanut free candies which are safe and delicious!

Do Butterfinger chocolate eggs contain tree nuts? I was given some candy by a friend. So, I wasn’t able to check the label. If someone could let me know, I’d appreciate it. I’m HIGHLY allergic to tree nuts.
