TOPIC: A study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics found the numbers of U.S. children with food allergies seem to be increasing, according to an article by The Associated Press. The first federal study of its kind revealed that food allergies in American children are on the rise and now affect about 3 million kids or four percent of children and teenagers under the age of 18. The number of young people who had a food or digestive allergy increased 18 percent between 1997 and 2007. The report found that eight types of food account for 90 percent of all food allergies: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat. Experts believe the increase may be due to parents getting more frequent medical checkups for their children as well as being more aware of food allergies in their children. The study was conducted in 2007 via a door-to-door survey of the households of 9,500 U.S. children under the age of 18.

We found fabulous chocolate without soy and are now in hog heaven. The chocolate comes from www.soyfreesales.com. The French milk and dark is our favorite but they have many others. Best soy free site we have found so far.
